Not only did the Badgers secure the win on the field, but they also got a major win off the field. On Sunday, four-star linebacker Blake Betton announced that he flipped his commitment from Penn State to Wisconsin, giving the Badgers another blue-chip player in the 2027 class.

Betton was in attendance for Wisconsin's 24-7 win over USC on Saturday, and reports heading into the weekend suggested that it was more likely than not that the linebacker was making a flip in his recruitment.

The Badgers had been early contenders in Betton's recruitment, offering him back in September of 2025. However, Penn State gained traction after the hiring of Matt Campbell as head coach, and Betton committed to the Nittany Lions in April.

Still, Wisconsin stayed the course and was able to get a key flip, acquiring their third linebacker in the 2027 class. Betton joins three-star Nathan Jones and three-star Keaton Wollan as the linebackers now in Wisconsin's upcoming recruiting class.

A Minnesota native, Betton had over two dozen offers in his recruitment and had been receiving interest from several Big Ten teams, including Michigan and Michigan State. He is ranked the third-best player in the state of Minnesota by Rivals and the fourth-best player in the state by ESPN and 247Sports.
