The four-time Grammy winner recently gave Swift, 36, a sweet shout-out while speaking about her latest single, "Bitch," on the May 15 episode ofGenius Verified.

During the conversation, Lizzo spoke about interpolating Meredith Brooks' 1997 hit of the same name. "I want the whole world to know that this is her record," she said, referring to Brooks, 67.

Lizzo wanted to properly recognize the '90s alternative artist because she worried things "would've gotten lost in translation a little bit."

"I was like, 'This is Lizzo's version,'" she said. "You know how it's like, 'Taylor's Version?' It's like, 'Bitch (Lizzo's Version).'"

Lizzo has also compared herself to the 14-time Grammy winner in the past, referencing the similarities between how they approach relationships and breakups in their music.

During a 2022 appearance onThe Breakfast Club, the "Truth Hurts" performer said, "I'm Black Taylor Swift. I really am, I'm trifling."

Lizzo added, "I don't talk too badly about [an ex's] character, it's just what he do. I'll be like, ‘He's a good person, but this is what he did. Am I tripping?' They'd be like, ‘You're not tripping, you're not tripping."
