BBC News broadcaster Karin Giannone can be off air for 'a couple of months' as she recovers from surgery.
The 50-year-old news anchor has revealed she is stepping again as she underwent a knee osteotomy operation this week, and she or he is staying in good spirits despite the procedure.
Karin shared a photograph of herself in a hospital beds as she was getting monitored following the main surgical procedure.
She wrote on X: 'I'm out of action for a couple of months after a knee osteotomy surgery, however very a lot wanting ahead to being back on air on @BBCNews when I am up and operating once more!'
The avid runner quipped: 'Not truly operating – that gained't occur for a while.'
On Thursday, she shared some snaps from her current string of half marathons as she confirmed the surgical procedure was one thing she has needed for round three many years.
She captioned the photographs: '3rd #halfmarathon in a fortnight to actually overdo it before I succumb this week to a knee surgical procedure I've needed for a long time (about 30 years!)

'Greatest wishes to you, Karin. Get nicely soon,' tweeted a fan, while someone else wrote: 'Karin hope your recovery goes nicely – and see you quickly!'
On Instagram, her followers have been equally supportive.
'Properly accomplished Karin and hope the op goes nicely. As you understand, you could have my full sympathies concerning teenage knee injuries,' commented a fan.
BBC star Olga Malchekska responded to her current marathons and stated: 'That is such an unimaginable achievement! Congratulations! And should your knee recuperate shortly.'
